Parking at Mount Vernon
Visitor parking is free and convenient. There are spaces for RVs, motor coaches and trailers. Lots can be found on either side of the George Washington Memorial Parkway, and an overflow lot is at the four-way stop sign within Mount Vernon's gates.

Gray Line Bus Tours from Washington, D.C:
Departs daily from Gray Line Terminal at Union Station in Washington, D.C., at 8:00 a.m. Four hour tour includes a stop at Christ Church and views from the coach of Old Town Alexandria, The Pentagon, and Crystal City. No tours July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Roundtrip fare includes admission to Mount Vernon: $47.50 for adults, $24.50 for youth. There is a nine-hour version that also includes visits to Arlington National Cemetery and several monuments. $66 for adults, $34 for youth.

Tourmobile Sightseeing Tours from Washington, D.C., and Arlington, Virginia:
Departs daily from the Tourmobile Station at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, at 11:00 a.m. June 15 - Labor Day. Travel by motor coach through historic Old Town Alexandria to Mount Vernon for a five hour tour. Roundtrip fare includes admission to Mount Vernon: $30 for adults, $15 for youth.

The Spirit of Mount Vernon docks at Pier 4 at 6th and Water Streets, SW in Washington, D.C. The departure time is 8:30 a.m. with arrival at Mount Vernon scheduled for 10:00 a.m. The Spirit departs Mount Vernon at 1:30 p.m. and returns to Pier 4 in Washington at 3:00 p.m. Roundtrip fare includes admission to Mount Vernon: $38.95 for adults, $31.95 for youth.

From Old Town Alexandria:
The Potomac Riverboat Company offers boat transportation from the Old Town Alexandria waterfront as well as the South and North Docks and National Harbor and Gaylord Hotel & Convention Center. These narrated cruises include admission to Mount Vernon.
The Miss Christin departs the Alexandria City Marina at King and Union Streets at 10:30 a.m.,
National Harbor North Dock at 11:00 a.m., Gaylord National South Dock at 11:10 a.m. and arrives at Mount Vernon by 12:00 p.m.
She departs Mount Vernon at 4:00 p.m. to return to Gaylord National South Dock at 4:45 p.m., National Harbor North Dock at 5:05 p.m. and Alexandria at 5:30 p.m.
Roundtrip fare includes admission to Mount Vernon.

Cyclists can reach Mount Vernon from Washington, D.C., via the scenic Mount Vernon trail. Nearly 18 miles long, the paved Trail follows the Potomac River's Virginia shoreline from Theodore Roosevelt Island (near Georgetown in Washington, D.C.) to Mount Vernon. Bike racks are located near Mount Vernon's Main Gate. Bring your own lock.
